• Canadian Xpress September Fly-In - Kilimanjaro II

    Canadian Xpress

Kilimanjaro, with its three volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira, are an inactive stratovolcano in the north-eastern Tanzania. It is the highest mountain in Africa, with its summit about 4,900 meters (16,100 ft) from its base, and 5,895 meters (19,341 ft) above sea level.

The first people known to have reached the summit of the mountain were Hans Meyer and Ludwig Purtscheller, in 1889. The mountain is part of Kilimanjaro National Park and is a major climbing destination. The mountain has been the subject of many scientific studies because of its shrinking glaciers and disappearing ice fields.

Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots to join us Saturday, September 21st, 2019 at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our September 2019 fly-in where we will fly from Addis Ababa Bole (HAAB) to Kilimanjaro (HTKJ).

This is an open invitation to all pilots & virtual airlines no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.
