    Microsoft Flight Simulator Development Update

    AUGUST!

The team is excited to move into the next phase of communication with the community regarding our development plans. As we mentioned in our July 25th update, August is about setting expectations regarding our development process through launch. September is about defining how we will involve the community in that process.

Here is our current schedule for August:

    • AUGUST 15th - Insider Program Kickoff (preview of Development Roadmap Release)
    • AUGUST 22nd - Development Roadmap Release (General Release)
    • AUGUST 29th - Build Program Kickoff

    But wait there's more!

One of the most important topics we see being discussed in the community is WHEN we plan to start talking about the project. You want the information, the team wants to share this information, so where exactly IS the information? It's coming. The challenge with creating a transparent development process built on collaboration is that we have to work on the foundation for delivering that information before doing so. With that said, we will be kicking off our Feature Exploration Series in the fall where we will be working closely with the community to walk-through the next iteration of Microsoft Flight Simulator in granular detail.

    But wait there's more!

That said, because we understand the importance of this topic to the community, the team is working hard to adjust the schedule to see what information we can share earlier than currently planned. In our August 15th update, we will provide more clarity on where we at in the process.

Could you please communicate in English? I have never read so much repetitive, depressing and meaningless gobbledegook!

Your last two posts could have been condensed to a couple of lines each.

I loved the very early Microsoft Flight Simulator, it was my first simulator experience, but now fly X-plane. If you can better that, then I am a customer.

      Best wishes,

      Kaytee.

Agree entirely Kaytee. Held high hopes for the 2020 edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator. But Microsoft's PR team have progressively eroded my early optimism with every progress 'update' they have posted since that early tantalising in-game video clip. Hope those actually beavering away on the project are more competent.

To be clear, Nels wasn't the one to type that just in case someone misconstrued what Kaytee said. That verbiage was lifted from Microsoft's Flight Simulator webpage which is linked above.

Clearly the person who typed that out either A) Doesn't have the best writing ability, or B) Is a non-English speaker. I'm thinking B. LOL But why is there no one to proof read? Especially with a Fortune 500, very notable company like Microsoft?

Anyway, about the Sim. It looks beautiful blonde cheerleader gorgeous. LOL And I may just have to dual partition my machine for Windows 10 and Windows 7 just to play this one, very impressive Sim. I just hope, just hope! It has really good ATC ability over what FS2004 and FSX had. Those two Sims' ATC facility was pretty mundane. I have grown very tired of using it now when flying and just VFR even in IMC while squawking 1200 for realism. However, if I see the weather at my departure or arrival airport have hardly no visibility using Active Sky, I will file a flight plan otherwise tower will deny me takeoff or landing. Learned that lesson more times than I can count and had to land anyway.
