• Review: Aerosoft - Mega Airport Rome

One thing I would like to point out though is that my system spec is rather on the high side. At present I am running an Intel Core i9 9900K CPU along with 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1080TI graphics card. I'm also running P3D V4.5 on a separate dedicated Solid State Drive to speed things up. When you factor in all of the above, it's easy to see why my frame rates remained constantly high.

With so many different levels of hardware available, your mileage is of course going to vary, so I can only go by what I have experienced.

So moving on to the system requirements as per the Aerosoft web site, we have:

    • Microsoft Flight Simulator X (SP2, Acceleration Pack) or Lockheed Martin Prepar3D V3/V4
    • Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 (fully updated)
    • 3 GHz Dual Core Processor
    • 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
    • 3D Graphics Card with minimal 1024 MB (2 GB recommended)

The download size for the scenery weighs in at 480 MB, with the final installation being 1 GB in size, which is nice and small. For myself, I enjoy small downloads and quick installs, as my excitement can't stand long installation procedures!

For this review I have included some cinematic shots during the daytime, evening and night, just to make sure everything is covered in this review. These are attached below:

To conclude, I have to say that Aerosoft's Mega Airport Rome been a fantastic piece of scenery to explore and I can't wait to do some more flights from this location!

I will be awarding this scenery a rating of 9/10 as it performs great, both in the daytime and during the night (even in bad weather). The only slightly negative aspect I could find, were the blurry textures in parts, but this may be down to simulator settings than anything else.

Having referenced the airport against Google Maps, I found it to be a perfect digital replica of the real-world counterpart. The airport is highly immersive, with the surrounding scenery adding to that.

Thanks very much for reading! Now here is my video look at the scenery:
