Just Flight have recently been very busy in their production of general aviation-based aircraft, such as the single engine wonders of the Cessna 152 and Piper PA28. Just Flight is adding to that legacy by introducing the Duchess 76. A while back, Just Flight created a Duchess in which I was a big fan of, so, I was over the moon when they announced this new version.

Just Flight - Duchess Model 76     Just Flight - Duchess Model 76

The Duchess 76 was built by American manufacturer Beechcraft and first flew in 1974. However, it was not until 1978 that new owners received their keys. It is very popular as a multi engine and IFR trainer, and is still used by many flight schools, With that said, more modern aircraft such as the Diamond DA42 are slowly pushing these older workhorses out to pasture.

The aircraft itself is powered by two Lycoming 360 piston engines, each putting out 180 horsepower. On first look, you may think that the Duchess might be lacking in power, but I can assure you that even with a full payload, you can fly comfortably just below 20,000 feet cruising at around 150 knots.

With a fuel tank capacity of 103 gallons, this aircraft also shows her strength with endurance. With a total range of 780 nm, you could make a trip from London Denham to Rome without too much effort.

The performance statistics mentioned in the Just Flight manual for this aircraft, are almost spot on to the real aircraft, and this comes across when in the air.

    Liveries

The Just Flight version features eleven liveries in total, four of which are from the UK, with the remaining including those from Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
