    Grumman F9F Panther

The first aircraft on our list is the Grumman Panther.

The Grumman F9F Panther is one of the United States Navy's first successful carrier-based jet fighters, as well as Grumman's first jet fighter. A single-engined, straight-winged day fighter, it was armed with four 20 mm (0.79 in) cannons and could carry a wide assortment of air-to-ground munitions.

The Panther was used extensively by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the Korean War. It was also the first jet aircraft used by the Blue Angels aerobatics demonstration team, from 1949 through to late 1954.

This excellent model for Prepar3D and FSX includes three detailed liveries, with each one representing a particular aircraft from history. All three are extremely pleasing to look at and are both sharp and detailed (without going overboard).

The sounds for the Grumman Panther are provided by Martin Schwanke and are in fact from the Red Arrows display team. Even though they are not an exact match, they work exceedingly well, and provide a great deal of character to the aircraft.

A particular feature of this model I really liked, was the opening nose cone (water rudder key by default). Little details like this make all the difference, so a big thank you to A.F. Scrub for including this.

Since mr Scrub makes his aircraft available for Prepar3D V4 I am a very, very satisfied "customer"of him. Most of his warbirds are now in my hangar.
