New Leadership At Gatwick Flight Simulation Group

Crawley based Gatwick Flight Simulation Group (GFSG) have taken the next step in securing their future with the stepping down of founder Clive Drake from the position of Chairman having maintained this role since the Group's inception in 2011. Clive has been replaced by Richard Harreiter, who said of the change; "We are completely indebted to Clive for founding the Group originally and for the way his leadership allowed us to grow into the 50-strong organisation we are today. Clive would like to take a well-earned rest and just enjoy flight simulation at the flying level; I think we owe him that, so it is time for the administration to be handed over". In honour of his dedication, GFSG have made Clive an Honorary Life President of the Group.

GFSG has a managing committee of five covering all aspects of the hobby and meetings take place every 1st Sunday of the month. Members are encouraged to bring their PCs to the meeting where lectures about everything from how Flight Planning to Understanding Weather are run most meetings. On-line flying for General Aviation is held every Tuesday evening while the same for Commercial Jets is run on Thursdays. GFSG are hoping to live broadcast the lectures to members so that the frequency can be increased to keep up with the different subjects and interests. Each lecture will also be available in a library for members to refer back to or in case a particular subject is missed.

Membership is currently £24.00 per annum running January to December and enquiries should be made through [email protected] or via the Group's web site www.gatwick-fsg.org.uk.
