Looks like a great aircraft - Just Flight always does a beautiful job. I'm sure it's spectacular. But $60 for a historical novelty aircraft? No.

$75 for the package. ($60 +$15). See the discussion under the Beech Duchess on the home page reference overpricing and value. This is a perfect example of being priced too high. No thanks.

If you say it's priced too high, then you're probably not who the vendor wants to sell to, you think? Other highly detailed, P3D-compatible procedural aircraft models are priced in this range, or in PMDG's case, even higher. There's always been a higher priced, quality tier, nothing new.

Its very pricey! Lovely model though, I am a loyal Just Flight user. The support from them is awesome. Still, at $75 its a tad over the edge -as far as price is concerned.

Are you really putting this product in the PMDG quality level of aircraft add-ons?
Nowhere near.... and therefore should be nowhere near PMDG pricing.

BTW Don't take me for a PMDG fanboy - I am far from it.

I've not flown the new Just Flight Vulcan, and I suspect you haven't either. We can both wait for the reviews and see how it's rated from actual use.

That said, it's description of features and systems puts in the same class of payware, if not the same quality: high res graphics, detailed virtual cockpit, custom scripts for modeling aircraft systems, checklist and manual study required - a procedural aircraft, not a simple start-up-and-fly model. And, ahem, the price.

Hmm, I still think that Just Flight would sell 3 or 4 times as many copies at half the price. You do the math, but I'm convinced that developers are shooting themselves in the foot by pricing these products outside the reach of the "reasonable man".

Fortunately I still have the old IRIS Vulcan, bought on sale in 2015 for the equivalent of US$13 - now that was good value! It is for FSX only but a good enough substitute for the JustFlight Vulcan for me. It is still available at simmarket for EUR19 (= $22 I think?) and a few other places for $30.

My love for the Vulcan is from a very young age when my dad bought me a die cast Matchbox model of this delta winged bomber along with another of the Gloster Javelin delta winged fighter. I continued admiring the whole class of V-bombers in aviation literature and books ever since, and a few years back someone gifted me Rowland White's remarkable book "Vulcan 607" which was an addictive read. It tells the saga-story of an exceptionally difficult raid by a Vulcan on Port Stanley during the Falklands war. That made my admiration of this aircraft grow exponentially.

I agree with you rooitou if it was more affordably priced it would sell a lot more copies. Having said that I have not seen many Just Flight products with such a price tag, I think they have spent a lot of money on the development of this particular model. I also own the IRIS Vulcan, and the DVD based RAF Vulcan by Just Flight which is FS 2004 only. This I can no longer use it because I no longer have FS 2004 on my system, but I still remember how amazingly detailed and so ahead of its time it was.

Price and quality are not the same thing. PMDGs aircraft deserve their price tags. That being said, just from the screen shots alone both from this and the aforementioned Duchess, neither of these deserve their high price tags. Case in point A2A, hands down the most realistic GA aircraft on the market and they are not near this price, even their warbirds are not this high, and to take the "wait and see" approach is very ambiguous. No one not even Carenado or Alabeao, while their models are beautiful, they at least realize their .fde's are rooted firmly in the default and unless Just Flight has made an external flight dynamics program as A2A has, $75 is WAY too much money for a military bomber with limited applications and no real challenge. I no longer buy Milviz for the same reasons stated above among others.

Way too expensive. I have noticed Just Flight over the recent months charging rip off prices. They have lost me as a customer now. I understand a lot of work goes into development and I can understand this. But, as prior said, more sales would be generated at a lower cost than a high first price. Sorry Just Flight I will never buy from you again. You are getting greedy and pricing yourself out of the market.

I'm very surprised at the responses here, was fully expecting to get shot-down for my "activist" opinion on pricing, but instead it seems that most people concur that add-on prices have gone insane. It also seems that many people have been drawn here by their interest in the Vulcan, but then dismayed at the price. That further proves my point that Just Flight is doing themselves a major disservice with their pricing model.

I get that the Vulcan must have taken more time and effort to produce than a Duchess or a Cessna, but it is not like they have to continue producing it and recoup raw material and manufacturing costs every time they produce a copy. It is now a once-off sunk cost and they only need to find the most efficient way of generating revenue. And that is a simple matter of price times volume.

So here is my simple pricing model assumption:
      $60 will sell 100 copies = $6,000
      $30 will sell 500 copies = $15,000
      $20 will sell 1000 copies = $20,000

It must be so tough being in charge of pricing at Just Flight. On the one hand you want your products to appear like luxury brands, but selling only a few copies (ie the Honda Acura of the motor world = $60). On the other hand, you want to sell many copies and recoup costs quickly, but risk your products falling into the "main-stream" category (ie the VW or Toyota of the motor world = $20). Somewhere in-between must be a good model for the likes of Just Flight (the BMW of the motor world?), ie above average quality and pricing, but still within the realm of reasonableness = $30
