• Just Flight - Twin-Engine Duchess Released

    Just Flight Duchess 76

New from the Just Flight development team - the twin-engine T-tail Duchess Model 76 is now on sale for P3D and FSX!

With IFR-capable avionics, excellent handling characteristics and counter-rotating propellers, the Duchess is an ideal aircraft for multi-engine flight training and the perfect step up from single-engine aircraft such as the PA-28. A cruise speed of 155 knots, a range of 780 nautical miles and a service ceiling of 20,000ft also make it a very capable touring aircraft.

    Just Flight Duchess 76

    The Duchess Model 76 is for For P3D v1-v4, FSX & FSX:SE, priced at £27.99 / €34.95 / $41.99.

It comes in eleven paint schemes from around the world and boasts a fully functional and comprehensive IFR-capable avionics fit which includes a WX-8 Stormscope and Century IV autopilot. The electrical, fuel, hydraulic and engine management systems are all all custom-coded and the aircraft features include a Flight Computer and Refill Menu, optional failures, Flight1 GTN and GNS integration, custom engine and cockpit sounds and interactive checklists.

Again overpriced. I'm sure it's a nice model but $42 bucks continues to price gamers out of the market. How about selling 2000 for $25 each as opposed to 1000 at $42. I'm just sayin.

I guess it depends if you are American or not.
As a Canadian, $42 translates to $60 Canadian, and we don't make more money in salary's or retirement savings.

Therefore, this one is not on my list.

And, there are not tons of twin low wings available, perhaps not with the T tail but still now many does one need.

Totally agree, I used to love JustFlight aircraft, and bought many of them. However, it seems they are trying to re-position themselves as a higher quality/higher priced developer. Perhaps they are now catching a different kind of buyer, the ones who don't mind throwing money around, but I have all but stopped buying their aircraft. They now need to go on 50% plus discount before I'm even remotely interested. Good luck to them, they must have lost many loyal customers in exchange for a few rich ones.

It is not only JustFlight though, I see many other developers, even the former king of value-for-money Virtavia, upping the price of recent offerings. I think the release of P3D v4 has triggered some kind of virus which affected developers' brains and turned them into money-sucking vampires :-)

Development cost + target audience (increasing/decreasing) = purchase price.

These prices are pretty expensive and as an Aussie our exchange rate is considerably less than the USD. I'm sorry, but I can't justify the prices of some add on aircraft. I think if the developer and the payware resellers made these aircraft a fair bit cheaper then they would probably sell more. I steer away from Just Flight and google prices elsewhere as I think they are starting to get a bit greedy.

I must agree, I simply cannot shell out $42.00 for one add-on aircraft. As a developer I purchase quite a few to use for audio development and thats fine. I do understand the need to recoup for the man hours spent cobbling these things together; its more than people realize. Its already been said, how about recouping the cost of development through quantity in sales. I've worked with dozens of developers through two decades, most went broke eventually for this same reason. There is a (price point) people are willing to pay, above that.....well good luck.
I will have to wait until it goes on sale, great looking bird though!

      Cheers all,

Well said Aaron. I sincerely believe there are plenty of "flyers" (me included) that are simply not seeing the value in many of the current models available.

Developers should be compensated for their time and effort. Also I hope they are listening to the most basic of salesmanship truths...Price Sells.
