• Where in the World Feature 103

Where in the World number 102 was from long-time guesser Ulf Kristofferson who wrote "We are back to some kind of capital again, this time an unofficial capital of a region. The industrial city's name has changed (at least) three times since the 1700's. Sadly, no planes are flying to (or from) this airport any more. It's sad too as the international airport dates back to the 1940's has a runway in excess of 13,000 feet that at one time was served by the likes of Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air Ukraine and Flydubai among others."

And the answer is ..... Donetsk, Ukraine

    Our guessers:

    Brendan McCoy
    Tuna Bilgi
    Bob Bina
    Dick Bronson
    Roman Krauss
    Eskil Dalenius
    Cormac O'Neill
    Nick Watson
    Eric Ellis
    Roger Wensley
    Charlie Aron
    Gary Jones
    Amber Dog
    Ross Bremner
    Mike Denny
    James Harris
    Christian Bachmann
    Thomas Oftedal
    Mike Guttman

    Wrong locations:

This blank area means that we got 100% correct for this round. Congrats to one-and-all!

We're pushing onward. Where in the World #103 (Welcome to 2018 by the way) is from Melo Scanlon who included the following clues:

    Sim     Real

#103-sim = Looking toward the active runway in the background. Two T6-Texans (although not this one) are based at this field.

#103-real = Plane spotting with my grandson at the airfield.

    Show

#103-show = This airport is named for someone famous who flew in this type of aircraft. This picture was also taken at the airfield.

Okay pilots, Where in the World is Melo?
