• Where in the World Feature 102

Scarely had Where in the World #100 been published and I had enough suggestions to get us into the Spring of 2018! Thank you! Thank you!

As noted last time, if you keep THEM coming, I / we will keep THESE coming.

So, immediately, #101 was submitted from I call him, "Jim Bee 3" and featured St. Lucia and Hewanorra International (TLPL). And by the way, hewanorra is the Amerindian word for "land of the iguanas". Additionally, during an E-190 tour last summer, I flew into St. Lucia and got the video here:

Our guessers for #101 were as follows:

    Nick Watson
    Mark Bryant
    Brick Empire
    Hugh McLean
    Dick Bronson
    Roman Krauss
    Bob Bina
    Charlie Aron
    Ulf Kristoffersson
    Wisnu Wangsa
    Thomas Oftedal
    Mike Guttman

    Wrong Locations:

    • St. Maarten / Princess Juliana
    • Bali, Indonesia

Okay, on to number 102. Long-time guesser Ulf Kristofferson writes, "We are back to some kind of capital again, this time an unofficial capital of a region. The industrial city's name has changed (at least) three times since the 1700's. Sadly, no planes are flying to (or from) this airport any more. It's sad too as the international airport dates back to the 1940's has a runway in excess of 13,000 feet that at one time was served by the likes of Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air Ukraine and Flydubai among others. In its high times the airport served over one million passengers per year. Where in the World are we this time?"
