Turbulent Designs - Glacier Park Airport

We're delighted to announce that development on KGPI has begun!

KGPI is in Flathead County, Montana, six miles northeast of Kalispell. The airport is owned and operated by the Flathead Municipal Airport Authority, a public agency created by the county in 1974.

Why KGPI Glacier Park International Airport?

We believe that flight simulation is also about exploring, visiting new locations that you may not have thought about before. We also have a passion for the details that make you want to exit your aircraft and just explore a scenery as if you were there in reality.

Being a regional sized airport and a P3D v4 exclusive, KGPI will give us the opportunity to do what we do best; a scenery packed with detail and the opportunity to create a scenery specifically for one platform. The benefit of working with one platform means a scenery fully optimized without the need for hacks and work-arounds created to be functional on old technology.

With KGPI, you will be able to enjoy many features made specifically and only possible with P3D v4.

    The Team

You're probably wondering who will be developing KGPI? Well, here's the team:

    • Russell Linn - Modelling, Ground Poly
    • Russ White - Modelling, Vegetation
    • Greg Jones - Modelling, Photoreal Imagery

We're very excited to start development on KGPI and we look forward to sharing updates with you though the development process!

    Release date

We're aiming for an October release, so you can expect a lot of updates!

Will you be doing S27 along with it or just GPI? The reason I ask is that we need help saving S27 from the incompetence of Kalispell's City Counsil. TL;DR the airport was built in 1936, and then a bunch of Californians moved in and want to shut the airport down while everyone that uses the airport and benefits from it wants it to stay open. The counsil goes back and forth over whether to keep it open or close it, so it's become in serious need of repair (seriously, they vote on it every 6 months and the vote always goes back and forth).
