    Changes At FlightSim.Com

    Having just passed our 26th birthday, FlightSim.Com would like to announce some changes. We will be partnering with Moodog Media who for years have done our web hosting. They will be taking over much of the day to day operation of the site. Though you'll be seeing some new faces involved in operations here, FlightSim.Com will continue to provide the services you've long been familiar with.

    HJG 22nd Anniversary Web Site Update

    HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing the delayed arrival of its first primary release for 2022. This latest release includes more than 118 new and upgraded textures for a wide variety of vintage airliners.

    FlightSim.Com Scheduled Maintenance - Complete

    While FlightSim.Com maintains a record of pretty much 100% up time, on occasion we do have to take the site offline to do some work. On Tuesday at 9 am EDT we will be moving the site to new servers as a planned upgrade. While the change is being made the site, including FlightSim.Com, TrainSim.Com and the FlightSim.Com Store will be offline. Update: Now complete, please report any problems.

    Bluegrass And WestWind Airlines Great Australian Rally 2022

    Bluegrass and WestWind Airlines announces Great Australian Air Rally 2022 (GAAR). The rally consists of 10 daily legs. Flight information will be made available for FS2004, FSX, P3D and X-Plane, together with details to enable MSFS flights.

    This Day in Aviation: First Flight Of Avro Anson

    Today in aviation history marks the first flight of the Avro Anson, a British twin-engine, multi-role aircraft developed in the 1930's. Large numbers of the type served in a variety of roles for the RAF, RCAF and numerous other air forces in the WWII era. Several videos are available showing their history, as well as freeware flightsim versions you can download and fly.

    Navigraph Offers Airport Chart Tutorial Video

    Navigraph is of course well known for supplying charts for flightsimmers. They've recently published a tutorial video showing how to read an airport chart. It covers the Jeppesen chart layout and how to read the heading section of the airport chart.

    DC3 Airways Plans Recreation Of Berlin Airlift

    This February, virtual airline DC3 Airways will recreate the 1948/49 Berlin Airlift. A series of flights are planned using a total of 14 airfields, with some flights in bad weather and some at night, adhering as far as possible to the conditions and events of the period.

    FSweekend Spring 2022 Cancelled

    We've just received word that the annual FSweekend held at the Aviodrome Aviation Museum in Lelystand, The Netherlands, has been cancelled for spring 2022, as it was in 2021. Sponsors hope to return with a very great FSweekend in the fall.

    FlightSim Community Survey 2021 Results Released

    Once again this year Navigraph organized a detailed survey for the flightsim community which was promoted by FlightSim.Com and many other flightsim companies and groups. The results from the 24,200 participants are now available, available as a video as well as detailed answer results.

    HJG 2021 December/Christmas Releases

    Historic Jetliners Group (HJG) announces their December releases, including 152 new and updated files. Included are new liveries for the HJG hosted B717-200, B727, B737, DC-9, DC-10, KC-135R, MD-80 flight line as well as the DMFS BAC One-Eleven, Trident and VC10. Also included are four new aircraft base packs for FS2004 and FSX.

    This Day In Aviation: C-119 Flying Boxcar

    Today marks the 74th anniversary of the first flight of the Fairchild C-119 "Flying Boxcar". It was an American military transport aircraft developed from the World War II-era Fairchild C-82 Packet. By the time production ceased in 1955, more than 1100 had been built. You can fly it using P3D, FSX, X-Plane or FS2004; links provided.
