    This Day In Aviation: C-119 Flying Boxcar

    Today marks the 74th anniversary of the first flight of the Fairchild C-119 "Flying Boxcar". It was an American military transport aircraft developed from the World War II-era Fairchild C-82 Packet. By the time production ceased in 1955, more than 1100 had been built. You can fly it using P3D, FSX, X-Plane or FS2004; links provided.

    Announcing Great European Air Rally 2021

    Bluegrass Airlines and WestWind Airlines are running an Autumn Rally with flights stretching from Palermo in southern Italy up to Vienna in Austria via the Alps. The rally consists of ten daily legs. Flight information will be made available for FS2004, FSX, P3D and X-Plane. Details of the flight routes and daily weather settings are provided so that anyone with a different simulator can make up their own flight plans.

    This Day in Aviation: November 5

    Today we remember Calbraith Rodgers who on the 5th November 1911, completed the first coast-to-coast flight across the USA in his Vin Fiz Flyer. If you're an FS2004 user and have a few days to spare, why not try your hand at flying the Vin Fiz Flyer along the same route with the wonderful model by Paul Beardsley found in our file library.

    FSweekend 2021 Cancelled

    We've just received word that the annual FSweekend held at the Aviodrome Aviation Museum in Lelystand, The Netherlands, has been cancelled for 2021, as it was in 2020. Sponsors hope to return with a very great FSweekend in 2022.

    HJG September Web Site Update
