This time around we're remembering something slightly different, the Hawker Hunter Tower Bridge incident of 1968. The incident occurred on 5 April 1968, when RAF Hawker Hunter pilot Alan Pollock performed unauthorised low flying over several London landmarks and then flew through the span of Tower Bridge on the River Thames. His actions were to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the RAF.
Today we celebrate the first flight of the Robinson R44. The Robinson R44 is a four-seat light helicopter produced by Robinson Helicopter Company since 1992. It was first flown on 31 March 1990 and received FAA certification in December. The R44 has been the world's best-selling general aviation helicopter every year since 1999.
