Beware: For me (with an i7 2600k, 16GB RAM, HD7850 2GB GPU) this is the heaviest aircraft I have ever owned for any version of flight sim. (Heavier than the PMDG 737NGX, or their 747X, heavier than the Airbus X Extended, heavier than the Maddog. Terrible stutters and low frame rates. When reported to Carenado, their solution was: "Turn off the PFD and MFD in the VC then" .....

The solution is to turn the brightness on your displays to 100 percent. This gives me great frame rates comparable to their steam gauge aircraft! Click the Menu button on the PFD and use the knobs to highlight the brightness percentage and crank it up to 100 percent! I believe there is some kind of shader affect that is turned off when the brightness is up on the screens!

      Hope that helps!

Gotta give it a try, it looks really good. I love this kind of aircraft for the casual flying!

I have the I7-2600k, a Gtx580, 8gb kington 1600 and I have absolutely no farme rate isses. I fly FSX with more or less max settings and still get app 70+ in frame rates. Have you checked your fsx settings if your update scenery distance or clouds distance might be to huge? That is also a killer for frame rates / computers performance so I keep these settings in the middle = app standard
It could also be your fsx setting for aircraft cast shadow on itself or ground scenery casting shadow on themselves - these are also killers for performance.

This was just ideas since I have not experience the issue that you write about in regards to poor frame rates.

I have a modest system that runs FSX well enough for me to get hours of flying enjoyment out of it, and while Orbx can kill my frames I just bought this beauty lastnight and I have little to no frame rate hit. In fact I find it very smooth and is my new cruiser plane to fly around, FTX PNW, NRM, CRM, PFJ, and now England and soon I hope Wales and Northern California. If you buy this you will not be disappointed.

P.S. I am no Carenado fan boy.

Compared to my 250kt Real Air Lancair, I am afraid the Cirrus stutters along like a sick parrot. Shame, if I was still flying, this would be my choice of aircraft in real life.

I have only flown it for two hours since buying it a few weeks ago so maybe I haven't given it a chance.

I shall turn up the displays as suggested above and give it another go away from the UK with all my scenery add ons and maybe it will improve.

I am not prepared though to give up my Rex Essential weather though, so if it still fustrates me It will be consigned to my hanger to gather dust.
