The Prometheus is a model of the Pitts Special S-2S aerobatic biplane flown by Skip Stewart Airshows. The Skip Stewart website calls his Pitts Special Prometheus "the custom built muscle biplane."

The Pitts Special is an aerobatic aircraft designed by Curtis Pitts in the 1940s, with the first prototype flown in 1944. Curtis Pitts designed many aerobatic aircraft during his life. He established Pitts Enterprises in 1962 to sell plans of his aircraft to homebuilders. Certified versions of the Pitts Special are produced by Aviat Aircraft. The S-2S version is a single-cockpit version with a more powerful engine. It is no longer in production, but it is supported by Aviat Aircraft.

IRIS Flight Simulation Software says its Pitts Special Prometheus was designed and developed by Owen Hewitt in collaboration with Skip Stewart Airshows. The following features are touted:

    • Custom sound pack by IRIS AudioworX
    • Superb aerobatic flight model allowing truly outrageous maneuvers
    • Skip's 2011 paint scheme in glorious 4096x4096 pixel resolution
    • Fantastic 3D gauges for silky smooth performance

    The IRIS Rendition

The Pitts Special S-2S by IRIS is true to the real-world photos I found on the Internet, and its Prometheus rendition is remarkably true to the photos on the Skip Stewart Airshows website. All sizes, dimensions, and shapes appear accurate, and the painting, replete with flame jobs and advertisements, is impressively true to the real aircraft.
