The Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle is "a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions," according to the U.S. Air Force website. "An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night, and in all weather," it says. The Boeing website says the F-15E is "a superior next generation multi-role strike fighter that is available today."

The first production F-15E was delivered to the U.S. Air Force 405th Tactical Training Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Arizona in April 1988. Since then, the Strike Eagle has been deployed in several combat theaters:

    • Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm (Iraq/Kuwait) in 1990,
    • Southern Watch and Northern Watch (Iraq) beginning in 1992,
    • Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993,
    • Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) in 2001,
    • Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, and
    • Operation Odyssey Dawn (Libya) in 2011.

Variants of the F-15E have been developed for:

    • Israel(F-15I)
    • South Korea (F-15K)
    • Saudi Arabia (F-15S)
    • Singapore (F-15SG)

More than 344 were built according to Wikipedia.

"The F-15's superior maneuverability and acceleration are achieved through its high engine thrust-to-weight ratio and low-wing loading," U.S.A.F. says. "It was the first U.S. operational aircraft whose engines' thrust exceeded the plane's loaded weight, permitting it to accelerate even while in vertical climb. Low-wing loading (the ratio of aircraft weight to its wing area) is a vital factor in maneuverability and, combined with the high thrust-to-weight ratio, enables the aircraft to turn tightly without losing airspeed."

Any chance that this bird will ever be available for FS9.

Unfortunately the FS9 SDK is far too restrictive to allow us to do the bird properly. No simconnect = no working weapon systems.

Very Definitely Payware. But This is MilViz and I have to tell you, they make their planes and choppers INCREDIBLY good and very detailed! I have one of their T38's and a 'co-produced' chopper, (the CH-54), by Nemeth and Milviz that are both at the TOP end of the spectrum when it comes to Flight Sim aircraft add-ons.

The F15 is my next buy, that's for sure.

Are the FAST packs removable like other tanks or are they part of the base model?
