KCD Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 My, my, my, Adam, that's one long tube! Very pretty though.
lifejogger Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Wow, that is a classic jetliner, excellent shots of it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

NMLW Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 A fine display of your DC-8 Adam. Very nicely framed and I like the cloud formations.  :D Larry
Rishav Kakati Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Beautiful rendition of the Jet Trader!! How are the systems modelling and flight dynamics on that DC-8??
liner simpilot Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Adam, you have to love the old classics especially the DC-8 series. The pics are excellent good angles & clouds. Is that a real freighter as I have never heard of that one. Kenny
dc8flightseck Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I loved the ATI DC-8 and am sad they are gone. They were beautifully painted. Here is a pic of an ATI DC-8 that I once got a tour of. Your virtual DC-8 looks lovely. Thanks for the photos!! DC-8 Flightdeck and and F-4 Phantom simulators
adamb Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Klee, John, Joe, Larry, Rishav, Kenny and Justin, thank you very much fellas. :) Kenny, Justin just answered your question. :) Justin thank you for sharing those great photos of the real thing, what a fantastic looking machine! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
omega7 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Wow!! some mighty fine shots of the DC8 Adam, she looks gorgeous :cool::cool: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
wolf2 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 never saw a dc-8with such modern engines. I've read some of them are still used for cargo; judging from the engines, and lack of windows (just call me Sherlock, lol) that must be one. keeping the cg inside the envelope must be tricky on a bird that long. can u load it up different ways and feel a difference? love the paint on it, and nice shots! Phil Colvin
peer01 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 The longest 8 I've seen Adam, what a beauty my friend!:cool::cool: And thanks for sharing the real one Justin! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

mikeandpatty Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 The DC8-71, -72 and -73 are re-engine conversions of the -61, -62 and -63 respectively. They collectively were referred to as the "stretch 8s", much longer than the original -10 through -50 versions. All of the DC8 series are available from HJG as freeware; panels are also available, but they have no VC. I have both the "Baby 8" and "Stretch 8" packages from JustFlight, and in spite of several cockpit gauge bugs that are gradually being fixed with updates by JF, I like them. The VC is very nice and all the versions handle very well (my personal opinion). Like PMDG payware, the JF models are not for the faint of heart; they are systems intensive so you cannot expect to just hop in and fly them. They have a very basic autopilot with no 2D flyout panel to make it easy to use (I added one), which is one of the continuing complaints in the JF Forum.
