welkerwin
So, I recently got ADE so I could edit my home airport, KSTC, which has changed dramatically since FSX was made. I decide to go in and Add a new jetway, like real life. When I went to "Add..." It didn't say "Jetway". OK, guess I can't do that, so I'll add the National Guard Hangar on the southeast end of the airport. I saved it, then compiled it, and I was shocked by what had been done to my beautiful Airport: All of the taxisigns were missing, and all of the buildings and objects that had been in the stock airport were GONE. The only things that remained were the taxiways, apron, runways, and The buildings I put in myself. "WWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYY" I shouted to myself. I tried just loading up the stock airport and compiling that(Yes I removed the nasty bgl first) but I got the same result.I came to conclude that It had to do with ADE. In conclusion, I have two questions: 1)WHY ARE THE STOCK BUILDINGS DISAPPEARING 2)Why Is there no option to put in a jetway? For the people that solve these, If I could, I would pay you. In other words, PLEASE HELP! Volatum Liberum! Feel Free to throw it in Google Translate! http://i58.tinypic.com/33jloww.png
StringBean
Easy one first, right click on a parking spot and "Add Jetway" should be an option. They are associated with parking spots, you do not randomly add them. As fro "everything missing", are you using the ADE-suggested file name? Where are you compiling to? The problem is in your procedure somewhere, ADE works just fine. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. welkerwin
I haven't changed the file name ever, and I'm compiling to the FSX/Addon Scenery/scenery folder. BTW I'm running ADE 1.65. tvieno
When you started ADE to work on KSTC, did you start the airport from scratch or opened the default airport and modified that? Unless you removed the existing buildings and taxi signs; placed an exclusion polygon; or changed the scenery complexity settings on the objects, I can't see what would cause for buildings to not appear. http://my.flightmemory.com/pic/tvieno.gifhttp://www.vatsimsigs.co.uk/Status/1136602.jpg
welkerwin
I started it from the default scenery. Volatum Liberum! Feel Free to throw it in Google Translate! http://i58.tinypic.com/33jloww.png
StringBean
Just to show that ADE can do what you want, here are a couple shots from KSTC... Obviously a little tweaking is in order. ADE does not remove default buildings unless you tell it to. What compile options did you use? Is your FSX in the Program Files folder? Where do you have your Scenery Complexity setting at? peace, the Bean [edit] Better? [/edit] WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. mrzippy
You might need to fix those attachments, Bean! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
welkerwin
Is there supposed to be those two tan colored buildings, one by the terminal and the other by the GA Parking? It looks out of place in ADE when I load it up. Volatum Liberum! welkerwin
Tried adding a jetway, then compiled it. I have the in-game scenery on extremely dense, still doesn't work. il88pp
I'm not at the pc so i can't check the menu names precisely. In ADE there is option to import stock data. I think in menu File-Import-stock data. Open the .bgl that you made and use "import stock data" to get the default objects in there. I think in menu File-Import-stock data. Open the .bgl that you made and use "import stock data" to get the default objects in there. That option is not necessary when working from the default airport. Everything is already there. That option is for use when opening an airport from a .bgl, particularly one created with something other than ADE. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? tvieno
Do you have the setting where ADE compiles the objects in a separate bgl? And somehow that *_OBJ.BGL isn't getting into your scenery folder? http://my.flightmemory.com/pic/tvieno.gifhttp://www.vatsimsigs.co.uk/Status/1136602.jpg
StringBean
Is there supposed to be those two tan colored buildings, one by the terminal and the other by the GA Parking? It looks out of place in ADE when I load it up. These two? Those are the default buildings, one of which is the terminal I added the jetway to in the picture I posted earlier. ADE does not display the detailed footprint of the building, only the "bounding box" which is north-south oriented and encompasses the extents of the building. You are doing something incorrectly. The only way we can help you is for you to give us a step by step list of your steps. I also suggest you start by reading from here- http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forums/ade-tips-tricks-and-tutorials.137/page-2 Particularly the 3 or 4 starting with Tip - What is an ADE Project File? Also make sure you have no other addons for that airport. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. scott967
ADE has options to either compile everything in a single bgl, or to split out the objects into a second bgl file. If you do the latter make sure you have BOTH files in your addon scenery\scenery folder. scott s. .
welkerwin
scott967, you're tip didn't work, sorry. Bean, I'll work on getting my steps screenshotted and posted soon. Volatum Liberum! il88pp
Stringbean is right, it should normally not be necessary to import the stock data. Just for completeness, you can find the option "load stock data" in the "Tools"-menu. il88pp [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
