old_wombat
For the carrier fleet, found (on here) a fabulous fleet oiler, the USS Mispillion, and some frigates and other high-res ships. But what would be really cool would be to have a ship sailing parallel with and very close to the oiler, doing a refuel. One problem - there is no fuel line between the ships. Now in Airport For Windows this is really easy to do. You create an API consisting simply of a vertically oriented BMP file, said BMP containing a suitable transparented drawing of the fuel line. But how would you do that with ADE? Before I go to the trouble of doing the drawing, would ADE recognize such an old-style API? Does it have another way? Steve from Murwilllumbah. tgibson_new
Hi, No, ADE does not handle API's. But you could import it into ModelConverterX and export as an FS2004 MDL file. Then you would add that MDL file to the Objects list in ADE and add it as an MDL object to your airport. old_wombat
Fantastic reply, Tom, 100.00% !!! Was not aware that MCX vould import APIs. Will do exactly as you said. Steve from Murwilllumbah.
tgibson_new
It will load most of them; it has trouble with a few. Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.com
old_wombat
Yes, I've already spoken to Arno about this. It won't reliably load APIs that do motion, and as API stuff is so old he's not going to look at that. Which I reckon is fair enough, too. Steve from Murwilllumbah.
