yoyoyo404
So, my parents realllly don't like paying online for games, not sure why though. I was going to get a steam prepaid card, but they only sell 20 dollar cards. It is 25 dollars on steam. If I buy two cards, that leaves me with 15 dollars extra. That would not work either, because my parents and I only agreed upon one 25 dollar game. We went to retail stores to see if they have fsx with a product key, but no luck. I even asked a friend to gift me and I would pay him back, but he doesn't have the money. Is there any other way to do it? I would much rather find it in a store/supermarket or something like that. mrzippy
I don't know how much you would trust an EBAY purchase, but that might be an option for a hard copy. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
PhantomTweak
Or just wait a bit. Steam seems to put FSX-SE on sale for $5.00 all the time. Just keep your eyes open, and when it goes on sale, pull the trigger! Just a thought... Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! yoyoyo404
Do you think that if it does not go on sale anytime soon, that it could go on sale on October 16th? This was the FSX release date, and it is not terribly far from now.
RCChopper
You're not watching the Steam site or you would have had it a month ago for $5.
W2DR
If it's OK with your parents (check with them first) send me a PM with your address and I'll send you a brand-new, unused, unopened copy of FSX Gold. Free. Best deal you'll find today.....If you parents want a 'phone number to talk with me first that's OK too. napamule2
Doug, Now that was NICE of you to do that. Really. I try to give away stuff and people suspect there is an ulterior motive. I don't know why. There isn't. Society sure is messed up now a days. Everything is about a DOLLAR. No one does things out of the goodness of their hearts anymore. And if you are giving away your computer (you have the specs I want - and can't afford right now - maybe? perhaps? fat chance?) I got dibs OK? OK! Happy Labor Day. ScatterbrainKid
..my parents and I only agreed upon one 25 dollar game.. If I had a spare copy of FSX I'd send it to you, but all I can do is give some moral support. Parents can have some funny ideas, perhaps yours would prefer you to join the local street gang and keep getting in trouble with the law instead of sitting quietly in your room playing computer games and sims. Haha only joking..:) My old man was like that every time I brought a plastic model kit home, he'd glare daggers at me and sneer- "When are you going to grow up and stop wasting your money?". He's been dead 35 years and I still buy model kits, I've got my eye on a Romulan Bird of Prey down the model shop..:)
W2DR
Hey Chuck. How 'bout a vintage laptop running XP? The HDD is dead and the screen is cracked but nothing that $200-300 won't fix. You pay the shipping. You're first in-line for the desktop. I thought about the "ulterior motive" thing but what the heck. You only have so many chances in life to help out.....and we can always used more new simmers. napamule2
Use more simmers is what came to mind right away. He might even catch a 'bug' and aim to become a Navy pilot someday. You never know. If you start them out early their life will more than likely be changed (for the better). I wish I had had Flt Sim when I was 15. I would definitly would have become (or tried like heck) a pilot. Two of my cousins were Air Force pilots and then instructors. When they were 10 or so they used to build RC planes (balsa wood and glue) and fly them round and round in circles (had a cable attached). So they started early. I was into chasing skirts (hehe). Chuck B PS: Perhaps Nels can set up a 'Scolarship' type program with simmers (us) contributing and those 'newbie' wanabees that meet some criteria (low income, etc) would get a CD/DVD set of either FS9 or FSX AND a decent joystick. Oh, I have 2 pentium 4 computers in storage. One has Win 7. They both worked when I mothballed them. So thanks-but no thanks. I will donate them to a 'Loafs and Fishes' outfit that provides low cost PC to needed teens and special needs adults and they even have classes to teach them. Only I need them for back up right now. i7 2600K @ 3.4 Ghz (Turbo-Boost to 3.877 Ghz), Asus P8H67 Pro, Super Talent 8 Gb DDR3/1333 Dual Channel, XFX Radeon R7-360B 2Gb DDR5, Corsair 650 W PSU, Dell 23 in (2048x1152), Windows7 Pro 64 bit, MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joy, Logitech K-360 wireless KB & Mouse, Targus PAUK10U USB Keypad for Throttle (F1 to F4)/Spoiler/Tailhook/Wing Fold/Pitch Trim/Parking Brake/Snap to 2D Panel/View Change. bushp04
Chuck, not a bad idea! I guess Nels would make the call on FlightSim Scholarships. I never even thought of that, and I've already given a pentium to a local church. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Fly Southern, Y'all" bushp04
