Had a near miss with AI while landing.

Last night I was flying the stock Barron, flying into Bowling Green KY. It was a nice flight, and I was set up perfectly flaps down dead on the ILS when I thought I was developing problems with my engines. The gauges were all good, but there was a definite change in engine sound. I did another gauge scan when out my port window what do I see, but a King Air no more than five feet off my wingtip!

No kidding, I was so wrapped up in the sim that I told myself that someone was going to get an ass whooping. The whole go around thing was good, but I was still upset enough to turn what was a textbook landing into a "Chase the ILS" landing.

Never thought I got as wrapped up into FS as I guess I do. Now I'm laughing about how I literally got road rage while simming.

When I first started simming I had problems with the jets passing over or under my aircraft on approach. Turns out that I was starting the approach too far from the airport at too slow speed.

I was under air traffic control, and had clearance. I've been using FS for . . . well I guess since 2.0 came out, and this was the first time something like this ever happened. I was more entertained by how upset I got. The wife thought it was funny as all get out that I was yelling at my computer.

Just wait for the treats in store for you if you try a major city airport like KLAX or KJFK and try to land a small prop plane and being chased by the biggies. They have no mercy. It may be time to check out AISmooth.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
