Batman47
So the Coranado C182 does not come with any 2D panels. Is there a way to import the C172 G1000 panel into the C182? Or pehaps, a 3rd party add in? I'm currently flying the C172 with the G1000 PFD panel placed on a 4th monitor directly under the 3 outside view surround monitors. MAZ43
Yes. Just cut the g1000 window from a default plane and paste it to yours. The window is in panel file. then add the window#=g1000 line and thats it. I have G1000 in most of my planes for the traffic radar. I also have the Honeywell fmc in most of my planes. PhantomTweak
Or, you can just alias the plane you want to have the G1000 panel to the C-172. Saves a ton of room on the HD making duplicate Panel.cfg folders with all the "stuff" in them. Bitmaps, XML gauge files and CAB files, etc etc. The same trick works for Sounds Textures, a lot of what makes an "airplane". Batman47
I have no PANELS folders. Maybe I need a more step by step instruction. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
PhantomTweak
Within the folder\FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes there is a folder for each aircraft. Let us say, as an example, \FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes\C182. In that folder there are folders like Model, Sound, Texture...and Panel. So the complete path for our example would be \FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes\C182\Panel. Within the Panel folder of the C182, you will see, at the very least, a file Panel.cfg. It is a simple text file, that can be edited with NotePad, or your favorite text editor. Remember to ALWAYS MAKE A BACK-UP BEFORE YOU EDIT ANY FILE!!! Please note (no pun intended) that if you use to "fancy" a text editor it can add or subtract various symbols you may or may not see when viewing it, but make it non-functional. A simple text editor is best to prevent that, like NotePad that comes with Windows. I found this out the hard way. Does this help any?
