Panel view doesn't change when pressing W

I checked the configurations and verified that Panel View is set to the letter W and yet pressing the "W" key does not change the Instrument Panel view.

Other keys seem to work.

What would I be doing wrong?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by panel view, and offhand I have no recollection of W

normally being used for panel view changes. "S" cycles between various views,

and "A" cycles the views within a certain view type. "A" is the usual key to change

panel views for most planes, if you mean switching from left to right side, overhead,

radios, 2D panel, etc.. Not all planes support all those views. Most 2d popup panels

use the shift+number keys, unless they can be moused clicked off and on. Not all planes

support that.

When sitting in the 2D cockpit and hitting the W key, the view changes from cockpit panel to Minipanel, to a clear scenery view in front of the aircraft, and then back to the panel view.

I guess I'm the one who will ask this question....You are looking at the 2D panel and not in the VC when you hit the W key???....Right?

The Dubya key only works in the 2D cockpit.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

OK.. It's been years since I used a 2D panel.. I quit using those when FS9 came out.

Guess I forgot all about that one..

You may want to get this: fsxcmnds.zip. It has 99% of the keypresses for FSX. It prints out (landscape) to one page. Keep it handy. I use it often even after 9 years.

If you want to eliminate the VC, use 'Shift+Enter' to move the panel down. Your eyepoint will then be on the roof of cockpit. Then you can use 'Shift+X' to put the GPS, or Radios, or even some (select) gauges in that view (see panel cfg for those).
