Captain Sim L1011 working with FSX Steam?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a nice Tri Jet, except PMDG MD11. I am between the DC-10 HD from Just Flight or the L1011 from CS. I know the DC10 works 100% on steam, but I am not sure about the CS L1011.

What would you guys recommend? On the CS Homepage, I cannot find any information.

BTW, the CS L1011 is an excellent product. It is gorgeous, and flies well. It has very deep systems. The C-IVA INS system they included is great--you get the cool factor without the drudgery of manually entering a bunch of waypoints (it comes already loaded with your FSX flightplan).

After their newly updated 727, the Tristar is my favorite Captain Sim aircraft.

Often, the biggest trouble third-party add-on planes (scenery, etc) have with Steam are where to find it. Steam kinda "hides" it a lot deeper in their own folder structure than FSX box edition is usually located. That's one reason to tell auto-installers to place their files into a temp folder you make rather than straight in FSX-SE.

Just a head's-up...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

How are the frame rates on the L1011 ? And did you mean that you can load FSX flight plans into the unit?

I have an older system, 2009 vintage. I get good frame rates and smooth performance from the 1011.

The CIVA INS will be have your current FSX plan already loaded. If you load a different flight plan while in the sim, that one will be loaded into the INS unit.
