CF-18 Battle of Britain livery

Recommended Posts

I've been poking around, but unless I missed it, no one has made or requested this fantastic Battle of Britain 75th anniversary livery for the CF-18. Would be swell for the default FSX F-18.

Here's a pic:

(BTW I also saw a pic in Flypast a few months ago of a Eurofighter in a similar livery.)

You might try putting your request in this thread: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,10839.0.html Posting pictures of the livery you desire is a big help to him.

Peter is an absolute magician when it comes to liveries. He is the OP of that particular thread. His screen-name is a random collection of alpha-numerics and I gave up on it a long time ago :D

Just so you know, Peter is one of the the team that originally designed the FSX F/A-18C. There are other threads, particularly http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,6944.0.html from "Jimi" Hendicks, one of the leaders in the FSX Blue Angels and one of the main designers of the FSX bird. He made a newer version, posted by both Peter in his thread and in the one I just linked (About pg. 38, give or take). Jimi made a number of improvements, and Peter ran with that further, as well as a ton of liveries for the original FSX plane. Jimi is currently working with his team to make a HUGELY improved version too. It looks to be as close to the real-world flight characteristics and sytems modeling, especially the FCS, as a simulator can come.

The Sludge Hornet, which is specifically tuned for work around the carrier is also available on the FSDT forums, which hosts the stuff I linked above.

There are also threads about vLSO (mean, heartless, cruel LSO's! :D ), AICarriers.NET, not EXE, which works with FSX-SE, the Couatl add-on manager, and other things of interest.

Hope all that babbling helps a little.

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
