CptCaveman Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi there folks. Just wondering if there are any quality free city scenery packages? I have airports, but its a bit iffy to fly over cities and only see a handful of landmarks at best. I flew to Moscow once and was bitterly disappointed there was no red square. Same for London, didnt see Big Ben at all. So are any on the web? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

You might need to turn your scenery settings higher if you don't see Big Ben, and a few of those other popular buildings in that area. It's been a good while since I flew around there, but I'm almost sure I saw those in London. As far as scenery, I'm not sure. Would want to prowl around the file library I suppose.. Punch in names of cities you want, and see what comes up.

jandjfrench Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi Cpt, ORBX has freeware scenery for Portland, OR. About London default: If you depart London City airport heading west you should soon see this: And if you want to set your watch. And heading back to the airport there's the tower bridge. And there are many other landmarks as well. Jim F.
andyjohnston Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Yes, there's a lot of stuff in London. I agree, and wish more people would do cities. I have the Portland, and it's good though small. There are a few of them out there, what areas are you looking for. Have you checked out fsfreeware.com? Spent way too much time using these sims... FS 5.1, FS-98, FS-2000, FS-2002, FS-2004, FSX, Flight, FSW, P3Dv3, P3Dv4, MSFS
Rupert Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Having relatives still living in Scotland, the foggy boogy isle still interests me. I love the ORBIX FTX coverage of EU England for London. It seems pretty accurate to me. Moscow? Haven't a clue. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
