I have never had a issue with my fsx till today. I got my new Saitek rudder pedals today. I installed them the set them up went for a flight maybe an hour to hour and a half. After I shut down the plane and was backing out to see my flight the game crashed/not responding . So shut it down ( ctrl-alt-delete) end task then tried to restart it and now I can not get past the load screen ( not responding). I have done a verify files through steam and also changed the FSX.cfg to read FSX.cfg.BAK then can get to the do you want to reset key question then it still gets stuck on the load screen (not responding) I have also tryed loading the game with the rudder pedals not plugged in and plugged in no go. Also no updates for the new rudder pedals as well. Any help would be great as I have been using this sim to help get my PPL. Thank you.

It sounds like when you shut the program down using the Task Manager, it didn't have the chance to update the logbook. If you aren't too concerned about the number of flights you have already done, then go to My Documents/Flight Simulator X files folder, open it and either delete the file called Logbook.bin or rename it to, maybe Logbook_old.bin, and then restart FSX to build a new file. The old logbook can be fixed by a logbook repair program.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
