CV-240 / C-131 "MATS" Anette Island - Port Hardy (FSX)

A good old Convair, haven't posted it for a long time. Here's a "MATS" one, from Alaska to Canada.

Wow, Jan, beautiful airplane and paint, and great shots!

Is this the "VBF Reloaded" CV-240? If so, does it have horribad flying characteristics in your sim? Here's a litany of my issues with this airplane, and sadly, despite 3 pages of ppl trying to help, it's still basically unflyable for me.

I'm hoping that you have either found some fix for the problems I'm having, or you found a better Convair 240 to fly.

Thanks again for sharing these great shots!

Thanks very much Larry and Dough! :):)

Dough, I followed your CV-240 problems and the possible solutions. I use pedals and yoke, and I'm also not impressed by the way this Convair flies. I use the AP as long as I can and I "fight" the bird to the runway. But I like this bird very much, so I use it often.

You're a man after my own heart, Jan. I use a Saitek X45 Stick/Throttle set- the Throttle has a rudder rocker under its handle so I don't need pedals.

I love the damn Convair too, and after typing my last reply here, I just had to go get mine (in my new HI-RES!! Ethiopian texture) and fly from Luxor to Jeddah. It was manageable, and now that I've replaced a lot of the panel and tweaked aircraft.cfg elevator & pitch trim authority and longitudinal stability values a bit, it wasn't that bad... plus, as you say, with a working AP to fall back on when your fingers begin cramping from the fight, it's worth flying.

Anyway, thanks again for the outstanding screenies.

Doug

Beautiful shots Jan, your Convair looks outstanding as well as the sky colors, great post my friend!!! :)

Small correction "I use the AP as long as I can and I "fight" the bird to the runway"

What you actually meant is (I use the AP as long as I can and I "fight" the bird into the runway) :D
