Could you give a more detailed description of what you mean by reducing the size of the virtual cockpit?

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Sliding your eyepoint back should do the trick..:)

VIRTUAL COCKPIT EYEPOINT MOVEMENT

(Hold keys down to slide your eyeballs)

SHIFT Enter= Up

SHIFT Backspace=Down

SHIFT CTRL Enter= RIGHT

SHIFT CTRL Backspace= LEFT

CTRL Backspace= Forward

CTRL Enter= Back

Hold CTRL and hit SPACE= Reset

Some Cessna 172 eyepoint sliding examples-

And you can also slide your eyeballs sideways to see what's in front of you-

PS- you can also use the zoom keys (- and =) in conjunction with eyepoints to customize the view exactly how you want it.

Try the zoom keys (- and =)

And also see if raising the seat improves the view over the nose.

2D COCKPIT SEAT RAISE

CTRL Q= Up

CTRL SHIFT Q= Down

For example here's a DC-3 with seat down (top pic) and up (bottom pic)-

grab the edge of the panel and drag it to resize.

If you do this with the main panel you may see the lower half of the screen (behind the panel) as black. With the sky still blue.

To fix that, go to: Options--Settings-- Display, in the 'airsraft tab' set 'Panel Transparency' to something higher then zero.
