Up, away and retracting the gear. 5. Turning toward a heading of 026 degrees for Lindi. 6. Climbing through moderate cloud cover at 5,000 feet. 7. Cruising at FL90 about 65 miles out of Beira. 8. We have run into some heavy weather near Jimo, Mozambique. We can see the Zambezi River through the clouds below. 9. Near Chicôno, Mozambique we are still experiencing stormy weather. 10. About 330 miles into the flight and still in rough weather. We consider putting down at the airport in the small city of Gurúè, but figure our chance of finding it in this weather is slim to none. We continue on. 11. The static on the radio has cleared somewhat and we have contact with the airport at Montepuez. We calculate that we are about 190 miles from Lindi. We press on.
