Been testing my hardware and I have left the FSX program running, aircraft flying for about 72 hours now. Just wondering how long others have left their FSX running without any issues.

If you have a stable system and stable versions of add-on software, there really is no limit.

If you can make it 18 hours and nothing changes, you can go indefinitely. I have stayed online on Vatsim and have made multiple flights of 18 hours or more over a three+ day period changing planes and flight plans and have done this multiple times over several years. There is no failure point coded into the base program.

99.9% of all problems people have is with buggy add-ons, bad tweaking advice and attempts to manipulate Windows in ways they do not understand.

The longest I've put my laptop running FSX was around 10 hours, with addons. The longest I've run P3D2 was around 12 hours, also with addons. (Note that they're not crashes, but I simply quit the program) As long as you don't have any crazy addons or switch settings drastically all the time, and given that you have a decent rig, I wouldn't expect FSX to act like a time bomb or something.

On an unrelated note, my laptop just died due to an (electrically) open PSU connector. My replacement will be here in a couple of days, and although it sucks to lose my laptop, it's sort of sweet to get an upgrade! I'll see how well the new laptop handles the sims.

I finally got a little over 48 hrs and the probably some add on or sliders to high froze at PHNL over night. That hasn't happened in awhile.

It's an add-on causing this. The pure default sim will not OOM.

First, I respect the OP and his post...I really do....but I don't look at FSX as how long it can run without a problem etc....that is not what I look for......what I look for is can I do ANY FLIGHT....without any interruption whatsoever.....and after years and years of listening to folks on this site ....my FSX is running pretty good...so what does that mean.?? I have adjusted things whatever that is suggested....I have reduced sliders....I have gone to almost 100 % Payware.... and now I enjoy most of my flying without any problem as I use 2x and 4x becuz I cannot sit at my computer for hours on end for a 5000 mile flight...so I do the save flight thing...that is what I do...and my FSX is fine with me...and I have no intention of getting rid of it....I do have Prepar3d and Steam....I do not use Steam now..but I use Prepar3d and it is very good in my opinion....FSX is fine for me and thanks to this community and the suggestions to keep my flights a success...al v

Understood but which add on is the question? I have a feeling that it is one of the scenery add ons

"... feeling that it is one of the scenery..."

Probably. Fortunately, scenery is the easiest to diagnose because you can use the scenery library to temporarily disable them and the sim will use default for the area you disable.
