HoggyDog
Great shots- electrifying, even! :D At first, I thought your 340 and 440 were the same airplane, based on the identical registration N3409. Then I noticed that the 340 has "JATO Convair" painted on the nacelle, while the 440 doesn't, and based on the extended nose, your 440 really is a 440. I did a bit of checking and it turns out that N3409 is the 340, leading to the inescapable conclusion that your Caribair aircraft painters were smoking some herbs of Jamaican origin while they were painting the 440. You might want to have an emergency meeting with your aircraft painters and let them know to get the 440's N-numbers sorted before the FAA comes a-calling. :p i7-10700K @3.8-5.1GHz, 32GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM, GTR-2060 Super 8GB, 2x SSDs
aharon
Thanks Wolf2 and Hoggydog for kind words. Wolf2, Caribbean shrimp dinners are served in that plane. Hoggydog, There are no existing photos of Caribair CV-440s and nobody knew what the livery looked like. So the painter, who did a very very kind favor for me painting Caribair liveries on all different CV planes, did the best he could for CV-440 without proof of photographs. In reality, Caribair had two CV-440s: N4405 Convair CV-440-75 c/n 463 1967-1967 leased and N45003 Convair CV-440-89 c/n 440 1965-1965 leased In addition, two Convair 440s (N4405 and N45003) would be leased from General Dynamics in the 1966 to 1967 period to cover the aircraft shortage while the 340s were being converted to 640Ds. N4405 wore a basic Hawaiian Airlines scheme without titles. Nobody knew what N45003 looked like. Regards, Aharon
