Problems adding scenery in Windows 7

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows XP I've been having problems adding new scenery - usually when I try to add an airport. Sometimes it adds right in and sometimes, no matter what I do, I can't get the scenery to be added.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

When adding scenery to the Scenery library, are you remembering to click inside the white area instead of the OK button?

From the FS2004 home screen, click on Settings. In the Settings screen, click on Scenery Library. In the Scenery Library screen, click on Add Area. Navigate to your new airport folder and open it so that you can see the texture and scenery folders. Click OK so that the address in the Directory field is highlighted in blue. Click on the Up one level icon at the top of the window. Your new airport will now be in the Scenery list.

I've found it easier to just download a scenery manager to handle this task. In Windows 8.1, FS2004 is notorious for simply stopping responding whilst trying to add scenery. SCM2004 is the one I use.

Thank you all for your quick responses and advice. I truly appreciate it. I tried Tiger1962's suggestion first and bingo! It worked perfectly.

You can also addon scenery using FS Navigator. I prefer using it as it is quicker at moving the scenery UP and Down levels (also I think FS2004 sim has a limit to the levels that you can view, but FS Navigator does not). You don't have the FS2004 sim open when adding the scenery. After you are finished you save the updates and when you open your FS2004 sim the scenery is ready to go.
