Greetings .....

I know that my question deals more with computer setup than FSX however I was wondering when I download from the internet the zipped files goes directly to my default "Downloads". Is there an alternative to my computer settings that I could select the path of the downloads ...say to my sceneries or to my aircrafts ??? instead of constantly going to the default folder "Downloads. Many thanks for all the replies......

Zippy is wondering what Internet Browser Gerray is using?? Zippy is using Firefox and the downloads go to 2 different places. One is the Download Center and the other is right to my desktop, which is the one I use. The other is deleted. You really don't want zipped files or the extracted files to go into your Sim until you have had a chance to see what you're dealing with.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

I simply download to my default Downloads folder in Firefox. I then put them into the correct folders. Remember, there are other applications than FSX that also need downloads.

NO, NO, NO.... Do not EVER set you download path to sceneries or aircraft!!!!

The downloads are normally zipped & you do NOT want clutter & zipped files wasting space & sitting in your sim folders.

It's Ok to let the downloads end up in your "Download" folder. You can then move them into a created FS Library folder (for backups etc). Then, extract the zipped files into a temp directory so you can see whats inthe zipped file. Then, after reading the 'Read Me's', move the extracted files into their correct directories in the sim. Try not to extract directly into the sim. It's always advised to see & know what is in the zipped files.
