search google: reflection windows fix fsx

fixes the default planes:

http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/17818/fsx-remove-cockpit-reflections/

to fix another addon plane:

find the problematic texture file in the aircraft's texture folder.

jot down the filename, then rename the file to originalfilename.bak

(***.bmp ---becomes---> ***.bmp.bak )

take one of the non-reflection files from this download above.

make a copy on the desktop and rename it to the name you jotted down.

put it in the aircraft folder.

(it won't ask 'overwrite, because you have renamed the original.)

should work deliciously, enjoy.

eeeeeh...

hmmmm,

I don't think so....

I only put the file in for my default 747......

There is a file in there for each default aircraft I think.....

But I don't remember installing it in each livery of the 747, and, (I don't pay that much attention,) but I think it is effective in all livery's.

Actually, yeah I'm pretty sure it works in all, even though you install the file only once. As I added more liv's afterwards, and they did not look 'stange' to me in any way.

I think the reason for that is that you install the Transparent texture file in the folder in the aircraft with name "texture", and that folder's files always get loaded as well by each livery. (so when flying liv 20 (let's say Delta), files from "../Delta" and from "../Texture" both get loaded.

But, as usual, there is a readme included, and that probably explains what to do. download it and see.

No worries. It's a real easy install. Your next flight later, the windows will be clear. I think it's a great improvement, especially at night. enjoy

Worrying is never good.

Get a external harddisk asap!

Then make a system image (systeemkopie) of your complete harddisk. (put check mark in all the partitions on your internal drive) and tell windows to store the image on the external one.

Don't move the system image to a different folder.

(if you want to create a new systemimage, rename the old one to windowsimagebackup-dateimagewasmade and the let windows create the new one.)

(drives are not expensive anymore. I just got me a seagate_expansion_portable, 2tb, 120$. Probably available cheaper online too.).

After the system image is created Windows will ask if you want to create a system restore cd. Say yes and put a blank cd in your be burner. You only need one cd like that. (you don't need a different one for each image).

If you are ever in trouble. System won't start, fsx damaged, virus, whatever. You can simply pop in the cd and plug in your external hd and restart the pc. The cd has a mini Operating system, your windows isn't needed. You will see a small menu with only 6 options. One option is 'restore from system image'. Simple.

To be able to restore the image must have the original name. One of the othe tools is a command prompt you can use to rename the file. You have to use the ren command.

Ren xxx yyy

followed by enter, renames xxx to yyy.

To make things easy I don't rename my last image untill I make a new one. That way on command prompt renaming is required.

No need to get a external hd with backup software or a password. A password can get in the way of restoring the system. You can't enter the password using the small menu from the system restore cd, so you can't get in and reach your image(!). You would first have to remove the password on another pc. And I prefer manually backing up instead of backup software. That way you know exactly what is stored.

Make a system image every one or two weeks. That way if you need to restore the pc you get the pc back that you had a week ago, and not 3 months ago!

Control panel -- backup and recovery -- systeemkopie -- select boxes for all drives -- click ok -- walk away from the pc for cm hour or two and let it do its thing. (don't use the internet or programs or move files around, just let it go.) it'll be done when you get back. Saves you a lot of worries.

Look up "how to restore system image" and "how to create system image" on google. Read the Windows instructions, and also other sites. There's lots of info to find, and lots of ways to do it. And it can really be a life saver. Plus making them is easy as pi!
