ConnorHillary
So, I did my usual, installing all my airports into P3D and then I try the Imagine Sim products that I BOUGHT, and it says that it disabled my activation keys for fear of illegal sharing since it was installed to many times, for one I do have ocd so I do tend to reinstall things a lot, I have that under control now but the fact they can just disable my activation for one a mental illness that I can't control and two, they can are even accusing me of it in the first place? Like they have no evidence other than "I installed it to many times" but that's not enough to take to court, I would guess lol. What happened to innocent until proven guilty, so in short, they disabled my activation without any evidence, rendering my money invested useless. That is really sad, and I just wanted to shed light on some unethical business practices being conducted by Imagine Sim.
ConnorHillary
Also, I want to make it clear that in clear text, it accused me of "illegal sharing", it wasn't "oh, you just installed it on too many computers". It was an outright accusation and action on their part.
chris_eve
I ran into a similar situation with AirWrench from Jerry Beckwith. Having paid for a download from the original author, when I came to re-install it ON THE SAME COMPUTER, after a hard-drive crash, I was told I'd had it for long enough and I'd have to pay again for a fresh install!. Needless to say, I've managed to live without it. FSX is very similar. Having installed it on an old XP machine, when I came to update to a new machine and o/s I was told by Microsoft that wasn't allowed.

Yeah, what bothered me is just because I installed it too many times for their "standards" that I must be doing something illegal lol. Like that is an extreme jump to a conclusion. Never using their products again, that right there is how you lose customers. I wiped anything "ImagineSim" out of my sim lol.

Usually, it is my OCD saying stuff like that to me but now it happened for real. What a wonderful world.
Barkingside
Imagine products weren't that fantastic anyway if memory serves. There are no doubt better freeware designers out there.
ConnorHillary
Okay, good news is that they got back to my email and all is fixed but imagine Sim, please change the language being used because accusing someone of literally committing a crime without proof and so non chalantly is very unprofessional, thank you. Great that you were able to persuade the vendor you weren't violating your software license but ... A real stretch if you actually believe anyone at Imagine Sim will read or heed your plea on here. Maybe better to communicate with them directly?

I did email them about it and how they should maybe change the language when you hit the activation limit.

I still can't believe that installing too many times = piracy, they could probably check where someone activates the file like IP and see that it is always in the same location on the same PC, I have never activated my products on any other computer except the one that I currently have. And if they are that worried about it then use the system that Lockheed does and give me a single activation and when I activate it then it goes to 0 and I have to deactivate on that PC to use it anywhere else. I would be fine with that. Oh, wait, that would take a little effort, they rather accuse you of crimes lol.
