mrzippy
It may be corrupt weather file for your default flight. Maybe by deleting and recreating the default flight might work. Also try deleting or renaming wxstationlist.bin in the same place your FSX.cfg resides and let FSX rebuild a new one on startup. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! Guest CSeries
Thanks, I have fsx steam, so the equivalent is to check the integrity of the game files. It worked for a few minutes, then crashed again. Do you have any ideas? I think it might be an addon doing so, but I can't be sure. Once again thanks for the help. :D Edit: I checked the integrity multiple times (About 14 times) taking me about 30 minutes per check.

Guest CSeries
Have you found a way to fix the crashes? I got a couple of minutes flying a day ago but that is all the luck I got. Now I load the plane, and it crashes immediately. My computer should be capable in running fsx, as it has run way more intense games like Bioshock. Apparently fsx steam was really crashy when it was released. I sent dovetail an email to ask for them to fix it.
Guest CSeries
I found that if you spam the P button to pause and unpause the flight, you could prevent crashes, but it is really annoying and it crashes after a few seconds. I hope dovetail will fix the crashes and thanks for the help.
mrzippy
any ideas? I think it might be an addon doing so, but I can't be sure. Care to list your addons? If you have a weather addon, I think that would be the place to start. I don't think that FSX-SE is the problem...otherwise everyone that owns it would be complaining of the same issue. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
pvarn
^^^ Agree with MZ. List your add-ons as suggested and open the Windows Event Viewer and let us know what component is crashing. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
Guest CSeries
Right -757 freemium -737-200 demo version -a318 FD Special version 3 -I used to have the pmdg 737, but I removed it, because I thought it was the one making the crashes -Default 737 modified the .air file -IRIS bombardier easter egg package -I think I might have a weather addon, but I have no idea how to uninstall it I will do research for the weather addon and remove it if possible Edit: I think it might be a cloud and a sun mod
pvarn
None of the weather add-ons I'm familiar with will crash FSX (ASN, realWX.) It seems most likely to me it's a bad saved flight. If you have a default saved flight, delete its files (which includes a WX file) and create a new one from scratch. Most of us have found it's better to keep the original default trike startup flight as default. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
Guest CSeries
Alright thanks a lot, I will try. You are right about the weather addons not affecting fsx, because they appear to have uninstalled themselves when I reset the game files.
Guest CSeries
My default save flight is the trike in friday harbour in the air, fair weather. with 99% fuel The weather addons were uninstalled when I reset the fsx se game files I cleared my fsx game folder of any crash files, and it appears that there were 47 crashes in total. I tried to run fsx again, but it crashed. Fsx was running normal, until I ran the sim connect to fix the 757 freemium jetliner (Before the whole airplane was invisible
pvarn
You may get better assistance from the Steam support. All FSX users modify FSX files and install/uninstall at their own risk. It reads to me as if you broke the sim while modifying it and we have no idea all the micro steps you took. Unwinding all that may not be possible except by a system restore, a saved backup, or repairing/re-installing your FSX:SE installation. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
