xtreme76 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Hi this is only some suggestion for the moderators of the forum. i've noticed many, many posts about FSX steam in the FSX forum But wouldnt it be good for both versions to have separate forums ? the other day i was typing a search for editing lines in the aircraft cfg file on google and had an interesting link to our forum here (FSX) but then i found out the OP was for Steam edition. I think it will eventually be a headache if we try to make adjustements for one sim but get answers for the other edition. Just wondering :)
mrzippy Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Maybe even a more simple idea would be to have a marker or placard that the OP will choose from when starting his/her post that identifies the question as being for FSX-MS or for FSX-SE. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

For the ones used to the flightsim forum yes, but many do google searches Google wont discriminate one or the other one. Links will all be mixed.
Rupert Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I can't speak for others. But I have learned much more about both programs by having issues from both programs discussed in the same thread. I fear, like P3D, having separate threads will end up with more articles being written trampling on the other guy's favorite program than dealing with issues. Nothing is really learned from that. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

None of my business really, but out of curiosity, is FSX-SE so different from FSX-MS that you think this is likely ?
Rupert Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I hope not. I think the two have so much in common, there is so much good info to share. Why mess up a good thing? Personally I have two different computers currently running FSX. I will probably put Steam on one of them instead. That's probably the only way I can really compare them and decide on my favorite. I bought a P3D license some time back to see which format I preferred. And it has been some time since I have used it. But I don't bash P3D or those that use it just because I prefer something else. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
tvieno Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It's about as different as FSX:Acceleration is from FSX. http://my.flightmemory.com/pic/tvieno.gifhttp://www.vatsimsigs.co.uk/Status/1136602.jpg
