jgf
Does anyone have a source for the Alphasim Lysander for FS2004? It is not at the Virtavia/Alphasim site (though the paintkit is there), the only other links I've found are to a defunct NZ site. I have found downloads for the CFS2 and FS2002 versions, which might work, and the FS2004 version converted to FSX, but not the FS2004 version itself. David Solomon
I have a zip file labelled ALPHA_Westland_Lysander_FS9 that you welcome to but I do not think ALPHA is Alphasim. I have flown it a few times but it is not my favorite aircraft. I prefer the Roy Chaffin DC3. Cheers, David
jgf
Thanks, I do have that one; it is the Alphasim model tweaked for CFS2 (how it differs from the one listed specifically as "CFS2 Lysander" I know not). It will work in FS9 but everything I read states the native FS9 version is the one to have (apparently the FS2002, CFS2, and FS9 versions all use the Alphasim 3D model but are quite different otherwise). FWIW, the FSX Lysander is the Alphasim model with new gauges, airfiles, etc. I also enjoy the DC3, either default or the old MAAM version.

jgf
FWIW I found it. There are two similar files out there, "ALPHA_Westland_Lysander-1" (sometimes labelled as "ALPHA_Westland_Lysander-FS9") is the CFS2 version, it is available numerous places; "ALPHA_Westland_Lysander_FS9" is the semi-official FS2004 version from the Alpha folks, done after their files had been released as freeware. The two are physically identical but worlds apart in handling, the CFS2 model is faster and more maneuverable, bordering on acrobatic; the FS9 model is more realistic, even to modeling the automatic flap/slat deployment (you can watch the slats extend and retract as you maneuver). The FS9 version is buried among several other Lysanders at simviation.
