PhrogPhlyer
On 2 July 2022, this AN-12 (registration number UR-11316) transporting military cargo from Istanbul, Turkey skidded off the runway while landing suffering light damage. The 2004/SFX model is quite interesting to fly, with many systems and screens to utilize. The navigator station even has a functioning slide rule for time/distance/fuel calculations. It will take some time to really know this aircraft. Always Aviate, then Navigate, then Communicate. And never be low on Fuel, Altitude, Airspeed, or Ideas. Laptop, Intel Core i7 CPU 1.80GHz 2.30 GHz, 8GB RAM, 64-bit, NVIDIA GeoForce MX 130, Extra large coffee-black.
Rupert
Quite the cockpit!! Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
Macroburst
Quite the crash after my slide rule skills bode ill for my fellow flight crew on the AN-12. Enjoyed the first shot with the winter background. Those engines are sleek!

I have a couple of slip sticks around here that I hadn't looked at for years, I pulled one out, messed with it for a while, then put it back away. It'd probably not even be on interest to a historian. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

I do, however, insist on using a basic E6B when I flight instruct or do ground instruction. It allows for a visual appreciation of numerical relationships (time/distance, fuel/time, etc) that a digital readout can never fully replicate. Same with digital vs analog readouts, relative needle position/movement vs read a displayed number and guess at it relationship to change; digital loses every time.
