Nice shots on the ground Aharon! Have you done any flights yet? Be sure to use the C-97 Monitor for flaps, gear position, etc. and turn on the speaker for the great callouts for flaps, set takeoff speed, gear up/down, etc.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

These are among the most stunning FSX screenshots I have ever seen! Is this airplane available with that AWESOME skin now? Is it flyable or just ground-testable? If flyable and available, please advise the specific file name so I don't grab the wrong one.

Thank you for elevating my expectations as to what a great FSX screenie should look like! Wow!

Thanks Mrzippy, Tareco, and Hoggydog for kind words

No not yet because I am waiting for somebody to paint Israeli air force livery on KC-97 as Israeli Air Force operated ten units of this plane.

Yes this plane along with this livery is available ONLY in beta. And yes it is totally flyable. You can get livery and model base from http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/content.php website. Since there is ONLY one file for the model base, you will not grab the wrong one. There is model base file and there are three other files for three different liveries.

Aharon,

Really like those screenies. I worked at KSLC in the mid 1970's. The Air National Guard there flew the KC 97s. Aside from the very annoying brake squeal they were fantastic birds. Thanks for the romp down memory lane.

Now, I have to download my own.

"Annoying?" Say it's not so! I prefer "nostalgic." :D

I downloaded a brake squeal "gauge" with a C-46 and now I'm using it on all my old recips- B-36, C-47, etc. It's just awesome to hear that raucous squeal in the sim just like I remember it it real life.

Aharon, thanks for the info on where to get this, I'm downloading the base model and the NYANG skin shown in your screenshots as I'm typing this.

Peer01, Bmatt569, NMLW, and Wolf2,

Thanks for kind words.

Bmatt569, Glad to hear that my screenshots remind you of your work at the airport where KC-97s were based.

Hoggydog, have fun with KC-97s!! Remember they are in beta, not final version.

Regards,

Aharon
