Help finding the right combo of add-ons...

Simmers:

 

I am slowly building up the complexity of my sim experience and am now interested in adding a few new layers to the mix. First, I am in the process of learning the PMDG 777 and intend to spend a lot of time in that aircraft for the foreseeable future. On top of that, I have FS2Crew Voice Control for the 777 to keep me from having to use the mouse and/or keyboard too often.

 

Beyond the PMDG777 and FS2Crew, I am looking to add enhanced ATC and AI traffic. Here are the questions I have:

 

1. What are the current champions of ATC and AI traffic add-ons and what are the pros and cons of each?

 

2. Which of the above programs have been proven to work in Steam edition, and with the PMDG 777?

 

3. Would a voice-driven ATC program like VoxAtc work with FS2Crew or is that too many voice recognition programs at once?

 

4. Are there any additional add-ons that you would recommend to enhance my experience with the PMDG 777 and/or air traffic in general?

I, much like yourself am also building this little world of my own. I am currently running windows 8.1 and steam.I have not yet reached the level of flying jets that would justify the expense of PMDG. I have VoxAtc and Ultimate Traffic 2 installed. Vox, I've had for awhile and love it. It really got me to understanding approaches. Ultimate Traffic 2, to me, seemed a bit confusing, at first, but once I figured it out, its great. You're in control of the traffic. I just finished setting up all the airlines that service Miami.

I have RAAS Professional by FS2Crew in the aerosoft airbus, it does not interfere with Vox.

I think when I'm ready for PMDG everything will work out fine.
