Gmax Background Definition

whats up

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm starting to use Gmax, I have very high quality background images, but it always shows up like this.

I tried configuring my Direct3D driver which works the best for me, but after I click OK, restart, and go back to the preference, the settings didn't change, why is that?

Not certain as to your settings issue, but your mapped image is distorted. Look at the prop circles...they appear to be oval. ;)

Also, it's a good idea to show the gear in your background image as you will be modeling that as well.

When you map the image (UVW Map) press the Bitmap Fit button and select that bitmap. That will make sure that the mapping is not distorted (this assumes that the original bitmap has perfect prop circles). It may not fit exactly on your plane in both dimensions, but just make sure the wingspan dimension is the correct one.

Re: your settings problem - is GMAX installed into any Program Files folder? If so, try right clicking the program icon and choose Run As Administrator.
