Meigs Field landing

Recommended Posts

Beautiful! Having landed at Meigs once, I always feel a twinge of resentment for the way the city closed it: in defiance of the FAA and in the middle of the night, unannounced, by cratering the runway- stranding many aircraft there. Real gangster stuff.

The answer as to how the Zipster ended up in Buffalo Joe's plane, Adam, is that Zippy is well known and notorious airplane thief, just ask Jan, he knows first hand!

Now wait a minute, here!........I resemble that remark!:p Thanks Klee, Adam, Hogg E. Dogg, and lifejogger for the Kind remarks. I slipped Buffalo Joe and extra C-note to let me "borrow" his aircraft. And with Jan, I just have a spare key to his hangar! ;)

Wow, I never knew that was how the closure went down. What a scumbag thing to do! So how did the stranded aircraft ever get out of there? I bet the city had some lawsuits on their hands from some really pissed off aircraft owners!

The FAA, after a week or two, let the few airplanes that were stranded at Meigs fly out using the parallel taxiway, which had not been damaged.

Ironically, the property never had much success as a "park", according to reports.
