Aptosflier
It used to be when I launched MSFS not so long ago (I forget how long ago now), the first thing that came up after the splash screens was a notice that MSFS was checking for updates, accompanied by a sometimes interminably spinning loop. Well, I hadn't seen this update check for quite some time until yesterday, when I had to temporarily relaunch MSFS in boot mode after it crashed when I tried to start a flight. There was the "checking for updates" notice and the spinning loop between the splash screens and the other stuff. But I didn't see this again when I exited boot mode and relaunched MSFS (this time without problems). I'm wondering if there's something amiss here. Shouldn't the sim be checking for updates every time I launch it? If it should and it isn't, what should I do about it? I hope not another dreaded uninstall/reinstall. I haven't had to do that in ages. davidc2
This is only a theory, but it may only check for an update once every 24 hours (or at another programmed interval) As for reinstalling, I am with you and I would advise against it. Wow!! Something I do not want to repeat. Wow!! Something I do not want to repeat. Other than the occasional CTD upon clicking "Fly"--fixed by launching in Safe Mode (what I meant instead of "boot mode," obviously)--it's running flawlessly. If it ain't seriously broke ...
