wbunnell
Trying to code parking spots for V-22 Osprey. Other aircraft in MAIW files, have been coded, so that a specific type aircraft will park in a specific spot, i.e., Edith Black’s MAIW Offutt AFB, has specific aircraft parking in specific spots. K135 M003 45RS, will park in a spot marked “45RS. I have labeled parking spots for three different aircraft Air Force V-22, Marine V-22 and CIA V-22, with three different combinations of letters and numbers, ie, VA22, 22VA etc. Regardless of which way I code the Aircraft for parking, they park following the way they want. tgibson_new
Hi, First, check that the parking spot is large enough for the radius of the plane. Second, check that the parking type (Ramp, Gate, etc.) is matched between the plane and the parking spot. Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.com
wbunnell
The aircraft are sized correct, all the spots for the V-22 are filled, they are not in the assigned spots. tgibson_new
If the V-22 spots are filled with other planes, you need to create spots for those planes first. Once the V-22 spots are empty, then you can deal with getting the V-22's to park there. Nightowl702
I have had this happen too. If you have the parking spots coded to match what is in your aircraft.cfg file under atc_parking_codes then double check to see if the parking types match, in this case from what I see make sure the parking spots you have coded for MC23, AF21 and VA22 are infact MIL_CARGO spots. Also set the parking spot radius a little larger than what the aircraft needs. Just a little bit, not too much. For example most of my smaller Airbus and Boeing aircraft are set to park in spots from 83 to about 88 ft so I set the parking spots at 90 feet. That also ensures that my AI airlines that fly multiple types will always park at the designated spots and nothing larger than a 757 will park there.. Hope this helps. tiger1962
The method I use is to open AFCAD2.21/Tools/Aircraft Editor, scroll down to the exact aircraft make(s) & model(s) I wish to edit, then edit the aircraft radius to an uncommon size such as 21 metres. I then edit the relevant parking spot(s) radius using ADE or AFX to 21 metres, as well as ensuring that the aircraft.cfg parking code(s) also match those for the AFCAD parking spot(s). As long as there is no other AI with matching parking radius and code, these spots will be effectively reserved for your chosen plane(s). Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." wbunnell
I’ve had little or no problem with assigning specific aircraft to specific parking spots. I use normal or slightly larger sizes for a specific, for specific, aircraft, using the specified spots, for type of aircraft, ie Ramp GA Small, etc. Ever since I loaded Edith Black’s MAIW Offutt AFB I had paid little or no attention to specific coded aircraft, going to a specified Spot. Using parking codes for individual aircraft is new to me, I guess I’ll have to use it more often. I thank you all for your assistance, with my problem.
