Hi, after SU9 I've discovered a selectable item in the Content Manager that wasn't there before.

It's named fs-base-cgl (by Asobo) and you can delete it thus gaining 58,5 Gb (!!) of drive space, with no apparent consequences at all.

Any idea what the purpose of such element is supposed to be?

Thanks in advance, best regards.

Hi.

Those appear to be database files. Mine have an install date of June 2021. They appear to me at least to be from third party sources. There is a file in that folder named DB_Notices.txt that describes the db sources used by MSFS. I wonder if they were automatically re-downloaded after you deleted them??

I'm not talking about deleting files or folders, I do never do that.

I've deleted a single item named fs-base-cgl from the in-game Content Manager, and consequently I've regained 58,5 Gb of drive space, and MSFS goes on working like a charm.

And of course, it's not automatically redownloaded at all.

Odd but nice, uh?

I saw that available when I first went to content manager but after doing updates on the deluxe and premium editions, it disappeared. Beats me what that's about.

Technology is strange sometimes. Even though I've been in it for over 20 years (now retired).
