jankees
My main interest, paintwise, is with military aircraft from WW2, so that means mainly prop aircraft. In general, jets don't do a lot for me. But that does not mean that once in while, a jet finds itself in my paint shed, so here are a few militay jets I painted over the years: Me reading Buck Danny made me paint this Crusader: jk5450 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Staying with comics, Tanguy and Laverdure made me a big fan of the Mirage: jk2055 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr a visit to Singapore made me paint this F-15 jk1359 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr A Fiat G-91 was one of the first plastic models I made as a kid: jk1429 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Rob Richardson keeps making these great freeware models of aircraft I've never heard of, but they are fun to fly and paint. Here's two Banshees: [jk4773 by JanKees Blom the father of my girlfriend at high school was a former Gloster Meteor pilot, Ã nd gave me my first flight ever in his Harvard. jk7530 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr another one by Rob, the Seahawk: jk8703 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr another one coming from Buck Danny, this Skyhawk: jk4176 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr the F-16, not that interesting as an aircraft for me, but fun to paint jk12113 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and my current favorite, the (T)F-104, it even looks fast standing still.. jk12784 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here. Rupert
Great paints as always JK! Having said that, my favorite jet is the first you posted in this set. The F-8 Crusader with its' swing wing raised always fascinated me. On a daily basis chopper pilots in the Marine Corps, especially on aircraft carriers and in Vietnam, were around various jets. A-4s, F4-s, B-52s, and F-8s were among the jet aircraft we worked with on combat missions or while flying Sparrow Hawk and even Med-Evac missions as well. IMO each of these planes was better suited for a specific mission than another might be. But the model that always caught my eye as beautiful was the F-8, especially with the wing in its' flap position! Did you ever paint a F-8 with the wing raised? If so, I'd love to see it posted! Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
