Caribbean Landing Mission Won't Complete

Is there some way to grab FSX by the throat and shake it until it notices that you have completed a mission?

 

I've done the Caribbean Landing mission several times before, and now I'm having to re-complete all missions due to reinstallation onto a new SSD. This one requires only that I land a CRJ at Princess Juliana, ignore the taxiways and roll out through the objective marker in the middle of the runway until Tower tells me to use the turning bays to back-taxi to the terminal, then taxi up to the objective marker on the ramp. Done, done and done. Several times, even. But alas, no matter how enthusiastically I taxi up to, through, around, beside (etc.) the ramp objective marker, the mission won't complete. No crash, no error message, nothing. Just a refusal to cycle through to completion despite all the criteria having been met.

 

I have confirmed with 2 YouTube vids that the mission is supposed to complete at this point. But it just doesn't.

 

Any advice?

Using any addon scenery for TNCM, eg FlyTampa? Addon scenery can mess up the missions. I cannot complete this mission either since installing the FlyTampa TNCM

Even with freeware addon scenery this also happens. It will give you the arrow to taxi to and the Mission never ends. For free Flights, I much prefer the newer scenery.

 

Did you land on Runway 10 or 9? 10 is the new runway designation in the newer addon scenery.

AHA! Not FlyTampa, but I did install a freeware TNCM package from the Library here. Even though it didn't change the runway number and/or add a fictional ILS like some packages do, it did overhaul the ramp and terminal areas, which is where the final objective marker is, so I'll disable it and try again from my short-final save. Thanks!

Also you are reinstalling and don't want to have to refly all the missions, you can get the Granted Rewards.BIN files from Windows (C:) - Users - (Your User) - AppData - Roaming - Microsoft - FSX folder before the reinstall, and paste them back in there after the reinstall.

+1 This is a good idea as well as keeping a backup of your logbook. Speaking of which, have you noticed that when you fly the Missions the date is like from 2006? If you like your log to be up to date you can make the necessary changes. Also if you like to fly the Missions, occasionally, for practice, you can put a check mark in the box at the bottom to make changes like different weather and time of day or season. Try landing the Caribbean Mission in the dark, in a thunder storm or snowing. :pilot:

Yeah I have noticed the mission dates....have thought about changing them to actual time but so far haven't got round to..

Yep, been there doing that - repeatedly. NO addons whatsoever with only the basic install. Saved it on approach both long and then short finals and even at end of runway. Caribbean mission just won't end. Thankfully, missions don't remain locked until predecessor has been 'completed' or else I'd want to grab more than its throat.

I know for a fact that if an addon scenery is installed for Princess Juliana, it will interfere with the Caribbean Landing Mission. It changes the runway number, for one thing, and even with default scenery, I think the trick is to take the first left turn off of the runway instead of rolling out to the end and turning around.
